At Last - The  Etta James Story is now showing at the Regal Theatre in Subiaco.  As one of the most influential R&B soul singers of all time, the story of Etta James is a colourful one, her life fraught with challenges from the day she was born to her delinquent teenage mother.

Despite facing many adversities in life, she rose to stardom to do what she was most passionate about – singing - and sing she did – recording 28 studio albums over her career, with famous songs such as “I’d Rather Go Blind” and “At Last”. She is a living legend in the rock and roll hall of fame.

As the night kicked off, the theatre was filled with the heart felt songs of Etta James as sung by Vika Bull, interspersed with the narrative story telling of the turbulent life and times of Etta along the way.

Vika Bull (one half of the dynamic duo with sister Linda and previously vocals for the Black Sorrows) takes on this role with passion, and with her powerful voice, is the perfect choice to tell the story of Etta James.

Hats off go to Vika Bull and The Essential R&B Band – their performance and passion to tell the story of Etta during the evening shone through.

The night went by quickly as Vika channeled Etta right before our eyes, bringing the magic of a live performance to Etta's classics, and before we knew it, the last song had been sung. There was a wild standing ovation by the crowd as the audience shouted for more, and then the final final song was sung, before Vika and the band went off stage to thunderous applause.

Perth audiences are lucky to have At Last - The Etta James Story come to the Regal Theatre in Subiaco and those who are going can look forward to a powerful night of entertainment.

Expect to be emotionally charged and happy after a couple of hours of intense energy on stage by Vika Bull and the band as they tell the story of Etta.

At Last - The Etta James Story is showing at the Regal Theatre on 25, 26 and 27 July.
