TARTS GOURMET FOOD AND FLOWERS

212 Lake St, Perth
Ph: 9328 6607

Tarts is somewhat an institution amongst the locals of Northbridge and Highgate and has been in existence for over 10 years. It is nestled in the quieter part of Lake St near Hotel Northbridge (the old Brisbane Hotel) and is a short stroll to the lovely Hyde Park.

On weekends, the place is usually happening and it gets a steady trade during the weekdays. It has a nice al fresco area and one could easily while away the afternoon at Tarts.

Tarts offers the usual breakfast menu items including eggs on toast, croissants and muffins. Prices range up to the $12 mark. On this occasion, my friend and I caught up for coffee and had a latte each. My friend also had a berry muffin that looked rather delectable. My coffee was nice and piping hot.

Tarts also has lots of delightful gifts to tempt you and the shelves are lined with preserves, bottled oils, cards and kitchen culinary items.

As we left Tarts the little pastries and savouries on display beckoned me to return. I will no doubt succumb to return and have lunch at Tarts one of these days.

Rating: 8 out of 10.
