Look no further than Prime Products for Indian groceries
Look no further than Prime Products for Indian, Sri Lankan and Pakistani groceries. My usual Prime Products shop is the one situated on William Street in Northbridge. It is situated near the Brisbane end of the bustling William Street amongst other Asian grocery shops along the strip and is easy to locate with its prominent yellow painted building at 414 William Street.
Prime Products also has shops located on Albany Highway in Victoria Park and a shop at The Vale Shopping Centre in Canning Vale. Prime Products has been in business for a long time and their ability to stock a wide range of products on offer for their customers is testament to that fact and also that the shop is often busy.
Prime Products stocks an excellent range of Indian products. There is a whole aisle dedicated to rice. Large hessian bags fill the shelves with all manner of Basmati rice, par boiled rice and long grain rice. Prime Products also stocks all the spices you could possibly need to cook up your favourite Indian dish. It offers a great range of flour products including chick pea (besa, chana flour), rice, wheat, corn, idli, and black lentil flour.
Prime Products stocks a good range of lentils, beans and pulses. This includes red lentils (masoor dal), gram pulse (chana dal), mung beans (mung dal), black beans (urad dal), soya beans, kidney beans and black eye beans amongst its range. They also stock a wide range of dried fruits and nuts including the usual suspects of almonds and cashews.
Speaking of cashews reminds me of that delectable semolina halva dessert that you can find at Indian restaurants or make yourself at home.
If you are looking to buy saffron strands to cook semolina halva dessert or some other delectable dessert, the saffron is stored safely behind the counter. You need to ask the person behind the counter to buy some of that most precious of spices.
There are also tempting desserts on offer such as gulab jamun.
Other products in the shop include pickles; pastes; chutneys; dairy products such as paneer (cottage cheese) which are often used in curries; pappadums; ghee; tea and coffee products. There are a selection of snacks and meals including parathas and samosas in their frozen products section and also instant curry meals stocked on their shelves.
Its all making me rather hungry thinking about all those fantastic Indian dishes I could cook up with the ingredients stocked by Prime Products. Might even take out a Bollywood DVD to watch whilst I cook up a storm of a curry.
