"Everything comes to him who waits" - so goes the popular cliche, and in Michael Gow's Once in Royal David's City the theme of waiting is examined from many different perspectives.
We are introduced to the concept right from the start, with the arrival of the audience to be greeted by a sparsely laid out stage, which more closely resembles the backstage area of a play, where actors wait for the show to begin.

Sculpture by the Sea in Cottesloe

The muchly awaited Sculpture by the Sea exhibition opens today at Cottesloe Beach.
Brainchild of David Handley, it is the largest free to the public outdoor art exhibition in Australia attracting locals and visitors alike from interstate and overseas.
There will be over 30 WA sculptors including Tim Macfarlane Reid exhibiting their artworks alongside interstate and international artists from China, Finland, Czech Republic, Japan, South Korea and New Zealand.
