On a fine summer’s Friday night I set off with a friend to check out the Perth Twilight Hawkers Market.
If you have a penchant for foodie events, the markets are a fun event showcasing food from cuisines around the world, cooked by locals.
Now in its second year, the event is organised by the City of Perth and is being held in Forrest Chase.
The Twilight Hawker Markets run from December through to April so get your butt on down there to enjoy some tasty food.
Head on up the Mitchell Freeway. Keep going. Keep going. And you’ll soon find yourself heading into the sunny suburb of Mindarie.
This popular Northern suburb comes packed with great beaches, schools, local shops and some great fishing spots. Not to mention an excellent selection of local and award winning restaurants.
For many, the heart of Mindarie is its picturesque marina and this is where most visitors to Mindarie will spend their time.
The Perth Walkabout Monthly Wrap is published at the start of each month to provide a snapshot of articles that hit the headlines in the last 4 weeks.
Here is Perth Walkabout's Monthly Wrap for the month of November:
Video – Perth City, Kings Park and the Bell Tower
This month’s video takes us on a whirlwind tour of some of the interesting aspects of the Perth City’s urban and natural landscape.
We start off with a bird’s eye view from Kings Park. Kings Park is the largest inner city park in the world and with over 400 hectares of parklands to wander through, there is something to enjoy for everyone.
The festive season is always a good time for stage plays, but this time Just Improvise, the theatre sports group, in conjunction with The Australian New Zealand Impro Collective, have outdone themselves.
They have come up with a brilliant twist to their upcoming production called Impro Unwrapped.
It’s a show with a difference because as well as bringing your family, you’ll also be bringing a Christmas gift for someone less fortunate.
Summer is the perfect time to hit the outdoor movie circuit in Perth.
The weather is balmy, and getting outdoors for a night of entertainment is a perfect way to spend an evening with family and friends.
Well, Perthites are in luck as organisers of Artrage (including the beloved Fringe World Festival) have set up Rooftop Movies in the heart of Northbridge, showing your favourite flicks out in the open air until the end of April.
We’ve had quite a spate of wonderful festivities this month in Perth. Last week, we had the Festival of Lights and Fremantle Festival, while this weekend it’s the hip and happening Beaufort Street Festival.
You will want to head down to Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley to catch all the action. Held this Saturday 17th November, the Beaufort Street Festival will run from 12pm to 9pm. It’s an event that is high on community spirit and family fun and fast becoming one of the most popular festivals around town each year.
Now in its third season, the festival gets bigger and better every year thanks to the organisers – the community run Beaufort Street Network . This year it stretches from Lincoln Street, Highgate, through to Queens Crescent (north of Walcott Street).
The program for this year boasts an action packed line up of events, things to do, art, music , fashion, wine and food for the family to enjoy.
