Greg Letts

I am a Perth born lad who has a passion for ping pong and had a career in computer instructing before escaping the 9 to 5 grind in 2006. The next logical step was to start my own website Greg's Table Tennis Pages where I created one of the first online video coaching courses for table tennis, and which led to me landing a role as the Writer and Guide to table tennis at About.com.

When Nita created Perth Walkabout, I helped to set up the website and provided ongoing technical support. From there it was a small step to writing articles and reviews of plays and productions around Perth.

I am also a co-director at Gnu Eventures Digital Marketing Solutions, where we work with clients to help them grow their businesses through search marketing.

When I am not out and about taking in the latest play or production, I can be found managing the Perth Table Tennis Club and coaching students, spending time and goofing around with my favourite Labradors, or strolling around one of my and Nita's favourite walks around Perth.

I was born and raised in the London, UK. Having moved to Perth in 2005, I
have taken a huge interest in Film and TV. I studied at the Central Institute of Technology, completing my Certificate 3 and 4 in Media (Film and TV).

During my time studying, I worked on the Perth community TV show Sweet and Sour and I have completed work experience with the ABC working on the Perth International Hockey Series and getting to assist the Camera and lighting department. Also learning how the Director and other departments communicate during a live broadcast.

Other than that, I have worked at Telethon and the Perth Glory games for Showscreens. I have some Film experience working on a Feature Film and a few short Films as an Audio Assistant and also as a Stills Photographer.

I hope to travel the world and take some amazing photos, videos and experience all the types of culture which would be an unreal experience.

My life goal is to work in Sport Broadcast working as a Cameraman. However, getting my foot in the Media Industry is the key.

I have always had a love for travel, exploring new places and finding new things to do.  Ask me where to go on holiday, and I'll give you a passionate reply on all the places that I have loved to experience.  Ask me where I want to go on holiday, and you'll get a somewhat lenghty response on all the places that I still cannot wait to get to.

I've long had a love affair with writing, but only in the last few years have gotten into the habit of sharing my written work.  It's something I now enjoy and in addition writing about my own experiences, thoughts and opinions, love reading the talents of other writers.  I'm something of a book worm.

Aside from travelling and reading, my passion is spending time with my family and friends; finding new things to do together and enjoying shared experiences.  I am a mum of one cherished boy and happily married to a lovely man who was blessed with an abundance of patience who indulges me in my love of list making (I am obsessed), all things Christmas related and with the starting (and subsequent finishing) of new hobbies that take my fancy.

You'll very often find me in the kitchen trying out (sometimes successfully) new recipes and creations.  Food magazines are my guilty pleasure, and I can be found pouring over these for hours.  I love trying out new restaurants, and finding some of Perth's hidden food treasures.

I work in the City part time as a HR Manager, with the rest of my time spent as a mum/toddler entertainer.

I enjoy and feel blessed to live in such a wonderous place as Perth and writing about the amazing array of things this great place has to offer is a joy.  I'm also a regular contributor to Weekend Notes and my profile is http://www.weekendnotes.com/profile/helenonthesofa/

After graduating with a degree in Journalism and Documentary Making in 2009, I've traveled the world twice and freelanced across a number of
companies including Yelp.com, WeekendNotes.com, Kenyon Fraser, Ph Creative, and Manchester Evening News. I've published over 1000 paid pieces of writing, ranging from music journalism, to venue reviews, blogs and travel articles. I've been a Social Media executive for a huge agency, and worked in three different countries.

I'm currently freelancing as a Social Marketing Executive and planning a two year trip to New Zealand, to explore, write and work in another country.. again! After that it'll be Canada, with a bit of India in between!
