The Perth Walkabout Monthly Wrap is published at the start of each month to provide a snapshot of articles that hit the headlines in the last 4 weeks.

Here is Perth Walkabout's Monthly Wrap for the month of September:

Video of Hillary’s Boat Harbour

This is our new segment where we will be featuring different locations around Perth on our website and via our YouTube channel. First up is Hillarys Boat Harbour and Sorrento Quay.

Hillarys Boat Harbour located in the suburb of Hillarys is approximately 23 kilometres north of Perth.

It’s an easy twenty five to thirty minute drive by car depending on traffic, or a leisurely journey by Transperth train and bus.

Some must see things to do during a visit to Hillarys Boat Harbour are:

Things to Do in Perth If you only had One Week

You’ve traversed the continent (or ocean), landed yourself in Perth, and decided to stay around for a week. A week may seem like a long time, but you’ll want to plan your time wisely to experience Perth to the fullest. The ideas below will allow you to experience a well rounded sampling of what Perth has to offer.

Spring Time Fever – 9 Fun Things to Do in Fremantle

At last, spring is in full swing! In Fremantle, the terraces are buzzing and the chants of the market traders are matching the beats of the baristas. There’s a certain character about Freo that makes you feel wholly connected to the community.

Here are some of my top picks for a visit to Freo during spring.

Things to Do in Perth if you have One Month

Settle in Perth for a month and prepare to explore not only the city, but also the beautiful regions that surround it. The stunning, year-round weather and multitude of festivals throughout the year makes anytime a good time to visit.

Start off your trip exploring the city.

Great Australian Movies You Must See

It is no secret that Australians like to laugh at themselves; enjoy heading into any given situation as the underdog, and hold the quality of mateship in high esteem.

And it is little wonder these traits are reflected in our movies; it is who we are, played out proudly on the big screen for the entire world to see.

For sheer entertainment value I choose to watch light, feel-good movies and would recommend the following if you are looking for something similar:

Perth’s Top 10 Shopping Spots

Perth’s Murray and Hay Street malls, and the adjoining arcades in the middle of the Perth CBD, are where the serious shopper will find everything from the latest fashions, fine jewellery, accessories, homewares and souvenirs. There you’ll find the top Australian fashion houses and the two major department stores, Myer and David Jones.

A Visit to Coventry Square Markets – Perth’s First Big Market of Its Kind

Perth can finally boast its own big markets in Morley, which have become a popular attraction with locals and visitors coming from far and wide.

Coventry Square Markets opened its doors in late 2011 after major development works were completed to transform the old Coventry Group’s site to what it is today. Its brand spanking new premises offer up a selection of 170 shops to browse through, sprawled over an area of 11,000 square metres. So it’s time to get your walking shoes on!

Stay tuned to Perth Walkabout to explore our beautiful city of Perth.
