Handy Tips for Perth Backpackers
I backpacked around Perth for ten months last year; it quickly became one of my favourite cities in the world. If you're going out on a working holiday VISA, it's a place that's friendly and easy to find work, with a wide range of backpackers accommodation, great night life, beautiful surroundings and plenty to do.
To get away from the winter blues, look no further than Broome as your next getaway. It's only taken me so long to visit this breathtaking town. From the minute you touch down at Broome International Airport, you know you've left winter behind. All the airport ground staff are in shorts and summer shirts, and sporting deep tans.
Our first evening in Broome is unforgettable.
Whether you are visiting Perth for wonderful Swan River Valley winery tours, bush hiking in the Perth Hills or watching sunsets along the Coast, you can find many excellent holiday rentals all over this corner of Western Australia that are perfectly suited to your holiday plans.

The Fremantle Markets are well known for innovation and diversity, so it's no surprise that they are the home to a place where you can go to not only try new taste experiences, but learn how to whip them up yourself - Electrolux at Fremantle Markets Cooking School.
Pubs are something of an icon of Aussie culture but to be honest, I’ve never really considered myself much of a pub person. I guess it’s because I’m not a big drinker (I’ve had one alcoholic beverage in the last two and a half years) which can also make me look and feel a little out of place. And thanks in small part to my Asian background, I’ve heard all the jokes about being unable to hold my liquor and saving money by only drinking water.
But luckily for me, pubs are increasingly more than just drinking holes, as proven during a Sunday afternoon visit to the Vic Park Hotel.
